Itinerary

Our staff will meet you in the airport & take you directly to your riad where you will spend over night (Dinner & breakfast).

After breakfast in your riad, Backtomorocco’s guide will meet you in the reception of riad taking the way to Casablanca via the city of Settat. In Casablanca we will have great chance to tour around the historical heritage of this Imperial city. We will offer you rich opportunity to see the most important things (the first big mosque in Morocco). Back to your hotel where you will spend overnight (dinner & breakfast are included).  

In the morning we will leave Casablanca for Chefchaouen city via the capital city of Morocco (Rabat). We will halt to visit Hassan II tower, Oudaya Kasbah, and then we continue our journey to join Chefchaouen via the charming landscape of Rif Mountains till we arrive to this Blue-white city of Chefchaouen. This latter situated in the north, and it was under Spanish troops during the protectorate era; thus, the majority of its inhabitants are influenced by Spanish accent. When we arrive to Chefchaouen we take dinner and spend night there in one of quiet riads of the region .

After breakfast in riad we will proceed our magic trip driving towards Volubilis passing via Small Rifian Villages to join the Roman traces. Once we get into Volubilis we will be with a local guide to explore and learn about the Roman history in volubilis. After having visited the ruins, we will change direction towards The Ismailian capital “Meknes” where we will take lunch and walk around to discover the historical monuments of Moulay Ismail and see great walls surrounding the old Medina. Dinner and breakfast in a riad .

We will take our direction heading to join the city of Fez after our breakfast in Meknes. After lunch, we will have time to explore this rich city. We will start our tour by seeing, exploring the secrets and historical, cultural traces, heritage of the city; we will enjoy our sightseeing walking in the narrow streets of the old medina. We will insist on seeing the most important sites such as the Old Qarawyine University, the Jewish place, Royal Palace and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum…. Night in riad .

We will pick you up from your Hotel or Riad in the so-called scientific city “Fes” driving southwards to Ifrane and Azrou by the Middle Atlas Mountains, we will stop at cedar forest just to have a so short walk and see the monkeys “ape”. After, we continue our route via Tizi Ntalghamt pass to join the city of Midelt, then we leave Midelt towards Errachidia. We will have our lunch in Errachidia and we continue our journey through the Ziz valley passing through Erfoud, Rissani and finally getting to Merzouga. After a glass of “Berber whiskey” mint tea, we say a temporary goodbye to the Hotel and getting prepared to take camels to immerse in nomadic lifestyle in the desert. Camel trekking takes about 1hr 30 min from the hotel to the Oasis where we will spend over night, sleep in tents. After dinner we gather around fire enjoying the desert night atmosphere and entertain ourselves with Berber instruments playing desert style music. For calm and nature lovers they can go for a walk on dunes .  

The camel man will wake you up early to join and enjoy magnificent sunrise on dunes. This would be a great opportunity to take lovely pictures of the desert. After doing so, we take camel ride back to the hotel. Arriving to hotel taking a shower then breakfast and we leave Merzouga for Tinghir and Todra Gorges. During our drive Merzouga_Dades, numerous Berber villages are scattered along the way. We will pass through Jorf, Tinjdad, and finally arrive to Dades Valley where we will have dinner and spend the night .  

After breakfast in riad we drive along Dades Valley passing across Kalaat M’gouna and Ouarzazate. Within the road of Dades Valley, we will see numerous abandoned Kasbahs were dwelt by large or famous, royal’s dynasty families in the past. Proceed our way to visit Klaat Mgouna village “Roses Valley” as well as we go to visit Skoura village. H0ence we continue to Ouarzazate. We leave the African hollywood city towards the famous Ait Ben Haddou kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco. After lunch, we wander this UNESCO World Heritage, and then we continue our trip via the panoramic view of Tizi nTichka pass; and here we will give us a chance to enjoy the impressive views and visit the Argan oil cooperative. At the end of our journey we will get into Marrakech.

No, you don’t need a sleeping bag, at our 8-Day trip Marrakech to Merzouga, you will stay at an equipped desert camp with all amenities.

Yes, for travelers who don’t like to go on camels, we use a 4×4 car to transfer them to and from the camp, without any extra charge as well. You just need to inform us at the time of booking.

To confirm the 8-Day trip Marrakech to Merzouga, we require a small deposit to be paid over PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer to our account, the balance is payable in cash at the pick-up, to be paid to your driver in euros, or equal in dollars or dirhams. Is it possible to pay the entire with PayPal? Usually, we request the balance payments in cash because PayPal also has many transaction fees and operational delays since it’s a world institution. We can in some cases accept the complete payment via Paypal however a 5% fee is going to be applied to hide the additional transaction charges. just in case you’re considering this method, it’s best to rearrange the payment before the tour.
